My last post was about how I only had 17 days left living a real life horror story until I was firmly back on home soil. That was a quick 17 days, it was actually more like 5 days! I have now been back in the UK for about 4 days and ready to fill you all in (naming no names!) on why I returned so promptly. It's pretty hard to disguise individuals in this story because, well, it involves me and the family!

Basically a very, very long story cut short - I obviously handed in my resignation, not convenient for either party however I was the right thing for me personally and the family responded as well as could be expected. That was it, no more was said for the whole month and a new replacement nanny was found, everyone was satisfied with the outcome. Well so I thought and was firmly lead to believe, until...pay day! Yes, I was informed on pay day that I was not getting half of my salary due to fees for recruiting the new nanny and car insurance, like excuse me? Since when was this agreed? I have a contact stating I would get £x and that you would pay car insurance and now your going back on your contractual agreement? Also while we are at it, since when have you ever heard of an employee have to pay to find their replacement, that's right, you haven't! After processing the laughable deductions, I wrote a polite email addressing the situation, requesting them to reconsider. Within the hour, I get a response saying they will pay the full sum but terminating my contract (even though I was due to leave the following week!), calling me ghastly names and that I needed to vacate the premises 'sooner rather then later'. That was that. I left. Please note here that I did my full duties and responsibilities, was helpful and asked if I could do more when my tasks were complete. Those who know me will have no doubt believing this is true, know that I put my all into everything I do and completely devote myself to the task in hand ensuring that it is done to the highest standards (I blame or should I say - thank my mum for this character trait!) (PS - as of yet I still have not received full payment) The story could go on into more detail and could reveal more horror stories that happened to me personally or I witnessed, but I won't bore you!

That is the brief as could be reason why I am home and my 'year' in Switzerland did not quite work out as planned. Now it is time to forgive and forget the people involved and move on to the next chapter, who knows what is in store, besides many more shopping trips, National Trust mooches and of course blogging my little life away.

Lots of love,

Amber
