FINALLY be prepared for a image heavy blog post! This weekend (8th/9th September 2018). My absolute beloved came to visit me, how grateful and lucky am I. We ran around town doing all the things I wanted to do, but that I didn't want to do alone slash knew having Jack there would make the experience, quite frankly 1000% better (yes I added an extra zero) and that was completely true, we had a blast and I will hold the memories we made close to my heart, erasing the messy goodbye.
Saturday 10.45am Jack arrived. As I saw his tall 6'8 self walk through the door I remember taking the biggest breath, having to hold the tears back and ran to nestle myself into his arms so tightly. Never in the past three weeks of me being here have I felt more at ease, comforted, contented and happy.

From the airport we hopped in the car and drove to Nyon, a town situated by the side of Lake Geneva, on the swiss side!

Need I say much more? This was the view from the car park! The town is quaint, with a promenade along the river and independent boutiques, boulangeries and restaurants situated in your typical european, rustic'esk french buildings, the type of architecture I just adore. After walking around the town, we thought we would get a sandwich and sit by the lake because as you can see in the image the mountains were idilic, Jack made me laugh at this point though...basically before he came I said 'be prepared, Geneva is more expensive then London', he just shrugged and said 'okay', it was only at the point when we bought our 26 CHF (swiss franc) lunch which consisted of 2 sandwiches, 1 eclair and 2 drinks that he understood what I meant! What can I say, I did warn him! Post lunch, we proceeded to the dock to catch the ferry (50 euros for the two of us!) across to Yvoire, a medieval village, which was smaller then I had anticipated however it is said to be one of the most spectacular views where you can gaze across Lake Geneva, the Jura mountains, the alps and Switzerland and sure enough the views did not disappoint!

The 5am early morning and walking around was starting to hit Jack at this point so I suggested going to Lake Divonne, a lake that dad loved growing up and without even realising he knew about it, it has become my favourite spot to go for a walk around, like father like daughter! So we took the 20 minute drive there for a coca-cola and nap in the sun. By this point we went on the hunt for pizza! Generally speaking, you drive past 5 pizza trucks in 3 minutes, however for some reason we were sent on a wild goose chase trying to hunt one down! In the end, we found a independent shop owned by a husband and wife, and although my french is by no means perfect, we were able to have a laugh with them, a smile is a universal language. Now time to get jealous, this was our view as we ate our pizza, oh yes! Is this #lifegoals enough?

Sunday 9.30am. We were up and out by 9.30am to get our baguette for lunch and croissants from the best boulangerie in the village, 'Pâtisserie Brocard'. Took the drive up to the mountains, which I have been so longing to do since I arrived, took the cable car up to the top where were greeted by a church service taking place and walked along the ridge of the Alps! I told you this weekend was one to remember!

Honestly, the whole weekend was spectacular and everywhere you looked was picture perfect. Weekend breaks are my type of traveling with the love of my life - perfection!
I'm a sentimental person and one thing that I really did love about Jack coming out was that I was able to show him where I spend my time so when we are on the phone, he knows exactly what I am talking about or where I am from first hand experience, rather from a picture.
As for how I am feeling now that I have handed in my resignation, I am a lot more at peace now the time frame isn't as daunting, although not waisting my time here by going out and exploring more of what is on my door step in Switzerland/France - I am excited and looking forward to coming home. Do I know what the plan is when I get back to Sussex? (besides working at Twinkle Twinkle) I have no clue, but I have complete faith and confidence something more permanently will fall into place when the time is right.
Lots of love,
Amber.
